Give up or keep going

Give up or keep going

Not every trip ends up according to the plan, can happen any time that the target is not approachable, there is too much light pollution or it does not even exist anymore. This will be a shorter post, you can dive deeper into the challenges of the research work in our recent post

Tonight was overwhelmed with plans and imaginations how the final image needs to be captured. The goal was to get to a lookout tower to have a scenery over the Danube curve. The dream picture was inspired by my childhood as I have spent plenty of time on that hill. I had the picture already in mind where the Milky way raises over the opposite hill and arches till the castle of Visegrad and the millions of start lights up the villages underneath. Sound epic, right…? 🙂
Well…it will remain a pleasant imagination. After reaching the lookout tower we sadly realised immediately that the light pollution of Budapest poisons the sky over the hills opposite. The Milky way will be most likely invisible. After enjoying the view for a short while headed immediately to plan B,C, D and finally Zed.

This night we drove the extra miles for nothing, but finally we arrived to our destination. Found a little chapel in a small village on top of a lovely hill. The scenery was heart melting in the middle of the night, we were eagerly looking forward to see how the light pollution will play its role. The situation could have been better and worse. As the results of persistent hunting we arrived quite late, we were a little short on time. We did get the most out of the tight hour. Do you think it’s worth it?
